Individuals who struggle with Hoarding Disorder face many challenges. It’s not just about making decisions about what to keep and what to get rid of. It means changing thinking patterns that lead to the acquisition of items through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, and learning to let go through Exposure and Response Prevention. This presentation will cover the basics of how these principles aid those struggle with this disorder, in addition to how to manage the depression, shame, and guilt that often times accompanies this condition. case examples will be provided and time for Q & A.
