Our Staff

Dr. Robin Zasio, (PSY17274), LCSW (LCS18641) is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been specializing in treating OCD and anxiety disorders for the past 20 years. Utilizing the front line treatments of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention, she developed The Anxiety Treatment Center of Sacramento, Roseville, and El Dorado Hills. With rapid growth, she then developed The Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center and The Compulsive Hoarding Center, all located in Sacramento, CA, which she currently owns and directs. Dr. Zasio continues to maintain a private practice providing individual, group and family therapy services, in addition to supervising interns who are learning to treat anxiety disorders. Dr. Zasio was the President of the Sacramento Valley Psychological Association from 2003-2005, and currently serves as a Board Member at Large. She serves on the Scientific Advisory Board, Clinical Advisory Board, and the Speakers Bureau for the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF), and is a faculty member for their Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) traveling the Nation providing education to clinicians who are learning to treat anxiety disorders. 

In 2010, she developed the OCD Sacramento Foundation, an affiliate office of the IOCDF with the goal of providing additional resources to the community who may not have the financial or other resources to access information or treatment. In 2014, she was asked by the IOCDF to host The First Annual 1 Million Steps for OCD Walk in Sacramento, with its mission to promote awareness and reduce stigma surrounding OCD. Dr. Zasio is on the Advisory Board for the Sacramento Chapter of the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill (NAMI) where she writes a “Doctor’s Column” for their monthly newsletter. She is a member of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation, American Psychological Association, Trichotillomania Learning Center, and Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.

Dr. Zasio is a featured doctor on the Emmy Nominated A&E hit series HOARDERS, Host of My Extreme Animal Phobia on Animal Planet, and author of THE HOARDER IN YOU: How to Live a Happier, Healthier, Uncluttered Life. She is the host of The Dr. Robin Zasio Show~ AM 1380~ 10:00 am PST~ “Mental Health Matters.” Dr. Zasio has been featured on The Today Show, Anderson Cooper, Fox News New York, Good Day Sacramento, The Katie Couric Show, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, NPR Radio, Dateline on NBC, HLN, Nake Berkus, SiriusXM and numerous other venues. In 2012, she was a National Spokesperson for Hotmail to promote awareness into those struggling with email hoarding and strategies to unclutter their inboxes. Dr. Zasio is well-known for her extensive volunteer service in the community, in addition to traveling the country providing education to clinicians surrounding proper treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders. She is a mental health consultant for FOX 40 News in Sacramento where she speaks on various topics related to anxiety, with the goal of helping the community better understand these conditions and working to reduce stigma surrounding mental health conditions.

Cory Adams, LMFT (LMFT90378), Clinical Program Director, is a highly experienced Marriage and Family therapist who has been providing top-quality mental health support in the Sacramento area for more than 15 years. A native of Sacramento, Cory has spent most of his life in the area, with the exception of several years spent serving in the Marine Corps. Cory’s impressive educational background includes graduation from Rio Americano High School, American River College, Sacramento State University, and National University. He has used his extensive knowledge and training to help countless individuals and families overcome a wide range of mental health challenges.

Throughout his career, Cory has held several key positions, including serving as Clinical Director for Terra Nova Counseling Center and the Eating Recovery Center. In addition, he has been invited to present at the California Coalition on Sexual Offenders, where he shared his expertise on integrating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with at-risk teens.

As an expert in the use of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cory takes great pride in training other therapists on the modality. He is passionate about helping other professionals develop the skills and knowledge they need to provide the highest level of care to their clients. As Clinical Program Director, Cory also provides supervision for those whi are pursuing licensure. In his free time, Cory is actively involved in his community, coaching baseball with Carmichael Little League, and serving on the Board of Directors. He is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those around him and is widely respected for his dedication to helping others.

Dr. Sandra Starch, Ph.D (PSB94028024) is a graduate in Forensic Psychology after 30+ years working as a clinical speech-language pathologist. Her therapy and research experiences have included neurogenic communication disorders, mild traumatic brain injury, and cognitive impairments in veterans having suffered concussive blast exposures. Dr. Starch’s recent interests have guided her practice and research toward moral injury repair, addiction recovery, and tracking the long-term impact of providing mental health programming to populations within the judicial system. She is employed in clinical practice treating anxiety and OCD and also practices recovery coaching for substance and process addictions. Dr. Starch strives to treat individuals holistically and assist them in identifying and creating an authentic and healthy life mentally, physically, and mindfully.

Dr. Nick Xiong, Psy.D., (PSY35767) is a licensed clinical psychologist with experience supporting individuals experiencing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, depression, and anxiety-based disorders. He utilizes evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and incorporates an integrative approach, drawing from multiple therapeutic modalities to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs.

Dr. Xiong values a collaborative and relational approach to therapy, believing that a strong therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for meaningful growth and shared learning. He works with clients to explore the spiritual, social, physical, and emotional dimensions of their lives, helping them gain insight, build resilience, and foster overall well-being. His goal is to facilitate lasting, positive change by addressing the whole person, not just the presenting symptoms.

Valerie Ledbetter, LMFT (LMFT154584) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with experience in a variety of treatment settings. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at William Jessup University in 2018 and Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at William Jessup University in 2020. Valerie has extensive community mental health experience, working with diverse populations, and providing treatment for people with a range of concerns including Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and PTSD. She has also worked in non-profit settings, running group therapy sessions for teens and adults struggling with depression and anxiety, and treating individuals with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, and trauma. Valerie has also worked in private practice and treating couples using the Gottman method. Valerie believes in creating a safe space for her clients to work towards their goals. She also has experience working with a variety of treatment modalities including ERP, ACT, CBT, and DBT.

Leticia “Leti” Salati D’abronzo, AMFT (AMFT151327) received her MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco and is currently working towards obtaining her license. Leti believes in an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring the process to meet each client’s needs and addressing clients in their entirety (body, mind, and spirit). Leti’s goal is to provide a nonjudgmental space to explore the possibilities and challenges of human experience, and collaboratively work towards healing, growth, and fulfillment, drawing mainly from CBT, DBT, Narrative, and Existential approaches. Some of Leti’s focus areas are anxiety, trauma, grief, substance use, and relationships, and she has gathered experience working in community mental health and outpatient services. Aside from English, she also speaks Portuguese.

Cameron (LPCC Trainee) believes clients are their own best advocates and understands, from personal experience, the courage it takes to move forward when feeling scared or alone. Cameron is a former baseball coach and Division-1 collegiate athlete, and having personally navigated anxiety a majority of his life, brings both clinical training and lived experience into his work.

He has found that meaningful change occurs when a therapist is able to truly understand what a client is going through, especially when it may be hard to put into words. His approach is person-centered and collaborative, with the understanding that each individual requires a personalized treatment plan. Cameron integrates CBT, ACT, and ERP, while occasionally drawing from the Townsend psychodynamic model to explore patterns, emotions, and relationships.

Cameron aims to support clients in making peace with the past, restoring relationships, strengthening present-moment awareness, reconnecting with personal values, and building skills that promote long-term stability and functioning.

Ashley Magaña, AMFT (AMFT150571) obtained a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, East Bay. With a background in community mental health, Ashley has experience working with adults, adolescents, couples, and families navigating a wide range of challenges. Ashley is passionate about supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and trauma. She believes in the importance of creating a non-judgmental space where clients feel safe, respected, seen, heard, understood, and valued. Her clinical approach is grounded in attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and experiential therapy, with an emphasis on collaboration and client-centered care. Ashley believes each day holds new opportunities, and every session is a meaningful step forward. She looks forward to empowering clients on their healing journey and working together to achieve their goals.

Vanessa Salvaleon Duval, AMFT (AMFT132662), is a dedicated associate marriage and family therapist who meets each client exactly where they are in their path to restoration. She brings a client-centered, collaborative approach to therapy where she believes that each individual has an innate capacity for healing and personal growth. She incorporates a variety of modalities into treatment including CBT, DBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT).

Before Vanessa became a therapist, she worked in healthcare business development for several years working with the geriatric population. It was there that she gained interest in working directly with individuals as a clinician. After graduating, Vanessa worked in various community mental health settings including supporting the homeless, working at non-profit and private practice settings along with crisis-residential, where she worked with high-acuity clients and school settings where she treated children and teens. Vanessa is grateful to have worked with all populations ranging from children, teens, the elderly, couples and families and has also led groups in intensive outpatient treatment programs and inpatient rehab. 

Vanessa is committed to helping clients traverse the peaks and valleys of life by helping them achieve their full potential, increase their resilience and develop coping strategies required for sustainable outcomes. 

 

Kaitlin Sizemore, RN, BSN, (RN95293388) is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner student at Walden University who is joining the Anxiety Treatment Center to complete her psychotherapy clinical hours. She works as a Registered Nurse at Stanford Hospital in the Emergency Room. Kaitlin obtained her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Kentucky.  She hopes to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives by providing compassionate care and reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness. Kaitlin is excited about her time at the Anxiety Treatment Center and all she will learn from the therapists and patients. 

Daksha Prasad, MSW Student, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Sacramento, and is currently a first-year Master of Social Work (MSW) student at Walden University. She is passionate about pursuing a career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with a focus on supporting individuals experiencing anxiety and depression. In her free time, she enjoys arts and crafts and spending time in nature.

Sarah Wall, BA, Receptionist, graduated with her Bachelor’s in Counseling Psychology at Oregon State University. She has worked in various roles while in school to support her career in psychology. Sarah is looking toward entering into a Master’s Degree in Social Work in the next year. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, musicals, and reading mystery novels. She is excited to learn and provide as much as she can at the Anxiety Treatment Center.

Karishma Narayan, BS, Administrative Assistant, has earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Sacramento State University, where she built a strong foundation in understanding health, wellness, and community care. Through a variety of professional experiences, she has developed the skills and perspective needed to take the next step in her journey—pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work in the near future.

She is passionate about helping others and is committed to making a meaningful impact in her community. Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and her black lab, who keeps life fun and active.

Cris McMann, Claims Coordinator, has worn many hats during her business career. Her work is usually behind the scene, but don’t be surprised to see Cris at The Anxiety Treatment Center if something more is needed. Cris enjoys her family time and friends, riding her horse and working with her husband to create a variety of handcrafted pieces.

Tessa Zasio Tessa “The Wonder Dog” belongs to Dr. Zasio and is the therapy dog for The Anxiety Treatment Center. Rescued from a shelter in Fresno, CA as a puppy only 3lbs, she knows hardship. After one month of coming home she decided to be brave and jump off the bed, causing a fracture and subsequent surgery on her right leg. After 3 months in a cast, she broke her left leg after having her cast off for only 5 days. A deer Chihuahua and prone to such injuries due to her long thin legs, she has made a full recovery and is stronger than ever. She now spends her weekdays offering comfort and support to patients at The ATC, helping those struggling with anxiety to be brave themselves. She has an open-door policy and is always ready to lend a helping paw.

Meet Harry Styles, our adorable therapy office hamster! With his fluffy fur and playful antics, Harry brings comfort to our clients by offering delightful distraction during stressful moments, reminding everyone of the importance of taking a break and finding joy in the little things. Whether he’s scurrying in his wheel or snuggling in his bedding, Harry’s presence fosters a warm, welcoming atmosphere that enhances the therapeutic experience for all who visit.
