Treating Anxiety Disorders with Comorbid Depression: Utilization of Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care.
12th October 2018 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
FreeAnxiety Disorders represent the largest mental health population in the United States yet remain the most underrepresented when it comes to specialists who are trained in the front-line, evidence-based treatment modalities. Compounding these conditions is the impact that anxiety takes on the lives of those who suffer, often times resulting in a co-morbid depressive disorder. In many instances, it is important to address the subsequent depressive symptoms in order to achieve success in reducing the symptoms of anxiety.
This presentation will discuss the conceptual framework of Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care which includes promoting elements of empowerment and personal growth, values, community involvement, focus on health and wellness, and the development of services to support the complex, long-term needs of those struggling with depression. Integration leading to treatment of anxiety disorders will be discussed with time for Q&A.
