When people begin to experience mental health symptoms, often times they will start with making an appointment with their primary care physian, not knowing what else to do. Along those same lines, it is common that medications are prescribed without any recommendation for therapy to address the specific symptoms they are concerned about. Dr. Laura Nasatir, MD, who is double Board Certified in both Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, will join us to discuss the role of medications when treating mental health symptoms, when it is appropriate to prescribe, and what to expect in the course of treatment.
